Your life is a beautiful masterpiece crafted by the master craftsman—a true mosaic with vibrant colors crisscrossing every area of the canvas. With each powerful stroke, a unique detail is placed, sometimes highlighted in bright colors and at other times in more subdued tones.

Yet, at intervals, you notice dark smudges resembling accidental paint splashes appearing as the artist works. These splashes threaten the beauty of the emerging picture, looking like stains that cannot be removed.

You wonder if the beautiful mosaic unfolding on the canvas is forever marred. You observe the threat to its beauty, yet the artist continues working. You wonder why?

It is because the story of your life is not yet complete; it is a beautiful mosaic being painted by the Master Craftsman.

Even though difficult times have caused smudges to appear while He works—smudges of pain, shame, sickness, disappointments, past mistakes, betrayals, and more—the artist remains at work.

You hear someone ask, "Is the painting ruined?" The artist responds, "No, it is a work in progress. Every smudge can be transformed into any pattern you choose.

What choices are you making about the challenging times in your life? Times when you are not winning?"

You have the power to turn every smudge in your life into a beautiful pattern. You can draw a winning design on the mosaic of your life.

The artist has made provision for accidental splashes and knows exactly how to turn them into a masterpiece.

Like this painting, your life is a design and still a work-in-progress, being painted each day with powerful strokes as you live your life.

What pattern do you choose? What design should the accidental smudges in your life be transformed into? You can craft your life story and live the life you were designed to live.

You were designed to win. So, when you lose in life, there is usually one of two things happening: You are either playing the wrong game or you are playing the right game incorrectly.

You play the wrong game when you choose a life you were not designed to live, much like a gifted boxer struggling to play football.

You play the right game wrongly when you live without knowing how to apply your life to create the positive results and value-based impact you were meant to create, much like an A-grade Formula 1 driver trying to win a Grand Prix with a Tour de France bicycle.

If you are like most people, you are not sure what the right game is, nor are you sure if what you are currently playing is good or not.

Your answer often depends on your method of assessment, which might be through mundane indices like wealth, fame, or power, popular brands of success. These are legitimate measures only if there is no inner feeling mediating your happiness in your chosen life.

There is a red flag that pops up within you when the outward success people see does not reflect what is happening inside.

There is no inner peace, fulfillment, or joy, but an unfulfilled yearning for something you may not even know — a yearning that is not satisfied with what you currently have, own, or are.

If you feel that way, then you are still not living the life you were designed to live. Life is only lived once and should be lived by design. You have the opportunity to paint beautiful strokes over the smudges of your life — the artist is still working, and you can choose your design.

How would you like to know and play the right game of life? Playing from a position of strength, where you show up each day energized, motivated, and empowered to achieve your dreams.

How would you like to win in the game of life? Playing in a position that comes easily to you, no matter the complex maneuvers required to win. Making the game interesting because you understand the rules, can interpret what is going on, and have all the aces dealt to you by the hand of providence.

Remember, this is about you and no one else. The artist is working on a masterpiece — meaning only one of it exists — unique and priceless, which is what you are. Craft your life story now and choose to live by design. “For we are God’s masterpiece… created to do good works.” – Ephesians 2:10
