God created you a Full Package; you are enough.
Be Encouraged: You have all you need to rise, within you. Know and do YOU.
Imagine being able to handle your life with confidence. You don’t play to the gallery. You show up without pressure. You live in peace.
Living in peace does not mean the absence of challenges. It means you understand it for what it is and trust God for the ability to resolve it.
The Holy Spirit was given to help us innovate. To bring out-of-the-box solutions to human problems by engaging your mind to consider other possibilities outside your current level of knowledge.
What brought you down cannot bring you up. The mindset that led to your current state is not the mindset that will power your future desired state. What information do you have about yourself? Is it correct according to the word of God?
Let’s find out in the story of Gideon in the book of Judges:
The young man grips the wheat he was threshing with trembling hands, the knuckles almost turning white as he pauses to listen. Sweat drops from his brow as he steadies his breathing to silence the raspy noise. His body stiffens as the sound of enemy voices seems to grow louder. After a while, the voices fade into the distance. They were passing by. He exhales in relief. “Wow, I have been holding my breath all this while”, he thinks. “These people will not kill me”, he mutters. “For how long will this continue?” he says under his breath, as he carefully packs together his threshed wheat into airtight bags. He emerges from the winepress with the wheat bags in his hands.
Suddenly, “The Lord is with thee, mighty man of valor”, rings out from beside him. He freezes in fear as the angel of the Lord addresses him. He heaved in relief. Not an enemy. Then, he receives a charge to deliver Israel from the Midianites. The angel of the Lord said, “Go in this your might (meaning: with the strength you have).” Was Gideon happy with his new leadership assignment? No!
He responds, “But Lord, how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!”.
A classic response when you feel you are not enough.
Here’s how you can intentionally change your inner narrative and take the needed action in 3 simple steps:
- Reprogram Your Mind with New Information
Believe that all you need to succeed is in you. Nothing else was given to Gideon. No extra resources. No additional energy, courage, or strength. The same Gideon who hid from the Midianites defeated them without any enhancement to his person. The only thing that happened was that he received a new narrative from a trusted source. What words do you hear and from whom? What you hear and believe creates your mindset. Reprogram your mind with new words from a trusted source. The trusted source for every Christian is the Word of God, the Bible. Note that the source is not you, or any other person, if the words are not building you. Any word that minimizes you is not for you.
2. Leverage Your Strategy with a Divine Superpower
Align with God, a greater power, to succeed. Once he confirmed the charge from God through a fleece (Judges Chapters 6-8), he went all in. He immediately replaced his thinking with the new narrative. Reframed his view of himself. Manifested the courage and strength he already had. Partnered with God. Trusted Him. Obeyed Him. He followed God’s directions and strategy to the letter to complete his assignment.
3. Take Action as the New You
Nothing happens without action. Step out in faith and do whatever God has instructed you to do. You were created with intention for God’s glory. You are unique. Not a duplicate. Not a copy. You are specially put together to succeed in whatever assignment God has given you.
In summary, challenges and current setbacks don’t define you. It does not change your DNA nor all that God has designed you to be. Step out in faith and trust the process. You become great by doing. Read my post on How to Own Your Mess and Make It Your Message.
